Children are not the only ones tempted to touch this piece when displayed at shows! Texture on the rocks and some of the large kelp leaves are highlighted by the trails of tiny glass beads and translucent marbles (bubbles) which increase in size as they rise to the top of the composition. The added effect when light penetrates the bubbles is both magnification and illumination of the colors beneath them.
